On 3 October 2010, Danny will perform a special set at for Floorplay at Studio 80, Rembrandtsplein Amsterdam. The event starts as a matinee performance, with DJ support from Gustin, Craig Neeld and resident Floorplay DJ and promoter Paul Sparkes. This is a splendid opportunity to see Danny in action in an intimate venue, on one of the best sound systems in the country. The doors open at 4pm on the Sunday afternoon - expect Danny to take to the decks early evening for a very extended special ride.

The plaudits and superlatives to describe Danny Howells are endless. “The clubbers DJ", “The DJs DJ”; in fact seemingly “everbody who is into quality dance music’s DJ”. Danny really is the epitomy of proper dance music: futeristic disco funk house played with penache, delivered with that smile. A thirst for new music matched by the stamina to present it with energy and cohesion every single weekend is one of the reasons why Danny is consistently booked in the absolute cream of the world’s clubs.

We all know the story by now - early years of digging around in record store searching for those elusive vinyls, DJing at Bedrock nights in his home town of Hastings for John Digweed, the marathon 12 hour sets in New York, Canada and LA, albums for Global Underground, Renaissance and his own Nocturnal Frequencies, numerous high rankings over the years in DJ Mag's top 100 poll, slamming productions with Dick Trevor, his own Dig Deeper label delivering the new talent and of course regular Dig Deeper nights in some of the finest clubs in the world.

Achievements aside, its Danny’s truly unqiue persona which is also the man’s allure. His infectious personality, coupled with unique, eclectic "deepsexyfuturistictechfunkhouse" sound is simply a winning combination. His creative and exciting mix of funk, prog, nu-age disco and straight-up house through to full-on techno is so far removed from the image of a headine DJ showing up and playing an hour of current top tunes for quick cash and status.

Indeed, folklore stories of him arguing with security to extend his set just one more record after almost 12 hours of playing, spinning solo in London and going straight to Heathrow airport to repeat the same feat the next night Stateside, genuine tales of late nights escapades and travel nightmares – it’s all part of Danny’s appeal. An all-feeling, flowing, living, and larger than life character with undeniable talent – no party could ever want more from a DJ. You get your money’s worth when you see Danny Howells perform, period.

Put simply, the man’ ability to connect with the audience, never being unruffled by photo requests, mid-set chats or tequilla shots while mixing flawlessly for hours at a time is true testament to his ability. Furthermore, a total lack of ego concerning his own skills in this day and age where seemingly any bedroom DJ with CDJs, Photoshop and a Facebook account can market themselves as a DJ and elbow their way into the industry is truly remarkable.

Dat doet niks af aan de kwaliteit van het zondagmiddag feestje.

Waar jij het wsl over hebt, is de kwaliteit van de maandag als je wél moet werken na en zondag feessie. ;)

Oneens bouter.... het idee dat ik vrij ben de volgende dag (zeker op mijn leeftijd :p ) deelt mee in de feestvreugde :) en verder zou het dan bij mij gaan om kwantiteit op de volgende werkdag ;)
