For the next edition of Manifest we’re welcoming Argentinian top DJ Hernàn Cattaneo. Joining him is our own progressive hero Pole Folder. Of course there’s also a Pioneer DJ Laboratory where you can learn all about using effects to your advantage!
After two top editions with Sébastien Léger and Satoshi Tomiie, Manifest continues in the same fashion with yet another international much-loved DJ: Hernàn Cattaneo. This big shot DJ and producer will be joining us all the way from the sunny Argentina for one of his celebrated tech-house, progressive sets.
Born in Buenos Aires, Hernán grew up listening to bands like Simply Red, Level 42, Depeche Mode and New Order. In the late 80ies he discovered Frankie Knuckles and artists like Inner City and Derrick May who brought together the energy of European electronic music with the soul of North American music, which left an impact on Hernán and set the tracks for his career.
In the middle of the nineties, Hernán’s talent was recognized by the most respected figures of dance, such as Paul Oakenfold –turning into one of his closest friends as their relationship evolved-, Sasha, John Digweed and Danny Tenaglia. Hernán’s eclectic deep house, tribal and progressive sets attracted the attention of the super club Cream who chose Hernán to become their South-American resident. His career took off when he got signed to Oakenfold’s label Perfecto with whom he released his first ever international mix CD South America.
In 99 he became resident in Cream Liverpool as well as in Ibiza and started touring all around the globe. Hernán’s did not only continue to wow the masses in the best clubs and most prestigious festivals of the world, he also left a mark as a producer, making a stunning remix for Morgan Page which went out on Bedrock, John Digweed’s well-respected label.
In 2004 Hernàn travelled all over the world promoting his Renaissance mix album; played at the best clubs in Europe, toured five times to the United States and three to Asia. By the beginnings of 2005, Hernán released the anticipated second part of Renasissance’s Master Series, being the first ever DJ asked to do a another volume for the label. The same year, Hernán began another world tour. The highlights of this restless four-cities-per-week tour included shows in the United States where Hernán performed alongside the likes of the Chemical Brothers and New Order, and at Coachella festival with headliners such as Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails, Prodigy and Kasabian.
Come 2011 we still find Hernàn touring the world with gigs in New York, Montreal, Lima, Abu Dahbi, London and … Antwerp. We hope you enjoy a massive set by this talented globetrotter. Hernàn will be joined by our own number one progressive hero Pole Folder, as well as Deniz Burnay and X-ian.
