The mix shows Deetron mixing with both analogue and digital technology: the first disc is mixed digitally, with additional edits and production in Cubase and Wavelab, and the second is mixed entirely on vinyl using his usual three-turntable set-up. "This compilation is a celebration of the gorgeous format that is vinyl and a praise for the endless possibilities the digital world has to offer," he says.

Both halves pack in more than 25 notably varied tracks, from classic Autechre and Model 500 to recent cuts from Andy Stott, LV and Julio Bashmore. Deetron also includes one of his own unreleased tracks, "Croque," plus a new one from Ripperton called "Swept Illusions."

At this early stage, Balance 20 looks like a treasure trove of house, techno and bass music, blending in familiar records with lesser-known cuts. If you’ve seen Deetron at work in a club, you’ll know to have faith in how he pieces all this together. Balance 020: Deetron will be released 4 November through Balance Music.

CD1 vind ik erg sterk en is qua stijl meer housy dan CD2 die dan weer meer naar de techno kant gaat. CD2 is wel enorm complex, met veel moodswings en eindigt ook IJZERSTERK

Moet beide cd's zeker nogmaals beluisteren maar sowieso weer een sterke balance release!

Ik vind cd1 behoorlijk tegenvallen. Kreeg er niet echt een bijzonder balance-gevoel bij. Ben wel benieuwd naar die tweede cd als ik Phortastic zo lees!

begrijp niet dat op dit album zo weinig reactie is.
Ik vind het echt een toppertje en een groeiertje ! Per luisterbeurt gaat ie nog beter worden, erg sterk

Veel beter dan dat geneuzel van Sasha imo ... (waar wel veel reactie op komt)
Maar goed, populariteit heeft niets met kwaliteit te maken, dat weten we toch al langer dan vandaag

Absoluut mee eens met je laatste stelling.

Ik zal deze week nog eens die cd op zetten. Ben wel bang dat deze ernstig veel luisterbeurten nodig heeft om goed te worden Is ook een kwestie van smaak denk ik
